Black & White Portrait Assignment

March is flying by and what a busy month! Crazy stuff. Another photog assignment come and gone.

This assignment was about black and white portraiture. Our first shot was to be taken in the studio...introduced to studio lights for the second time ever at Sheridan College. Kind of felt like a crash course, which is okay, since I am a natural light kind of chick. Which worked out nice for the second part of assignment which had to be shot in, yep, natural light.

My studio subject is the adorable and sassy Sandra Arno, :). Had a few really good shots, but I chose the 'Marilyn' pose...not for the lighting, which I don't think was the greatest in the shot and knew it..but for it's naturalness (is that a word?). I love EMOTION, capturing FUN, impromptu-like poses..not 'staged' stuff.

The next shot was of my little bro, Frank. Frank was 3 days into fatherhood, and it was bitterly cold (-30 or something..freeeezing)..but for the love of photography, we were OUT THERE! It was a blast!

All in all, it was shooting.. and whether it's in a studio under the intense lights or in the bitter February deep freeze of winter, I LOVE IT! :)

R..
