Welcome to Free Spirit Photography!

I've been on a natural high for the past 2 days...my logo is up and I absolutely love it! Welcome to my photog business, Free Spirit Photography.

It took me a lot of time and thought to come up with this name. I chose Free Spirit because it truly describes two things: the type of person I am, and the type of photographs I take and want to continue taking. I love a photojournalistic style of picture taking..free, natural. When taking your photos, I want you to be...YOU! Be yourself and free that spirit of yours! We all have a 'spirit', an essence of who we are. Laugh, cry, frown. Be serious. Be giddy. Free that spirit!

The second reason stems from what my mother used to say about me when I was growing up. Let's just say I always had loads of determination and drive. I had to be busy. And I didn't stay 'put' much..my days were always chocked full with things I wanted to do, places I wanted to be. So, my mom would always call me a 'free spirit'. Of course, life has slowed me down a tad..having 3 boys and 2 dogs keeps me on the go, but it also keeps me grounded. A good thing for sure! But I am still determined ~ determined not to lose who I am. Life throws us a ton of curve-balls, and it's easy to become confounded and lost. Take the time outs you need to do a little soul-searching, find that spirit again!

When I meet you, I will ask you for 3 words to describe yourself or the kind of pictures you want. I want to get an idea of who you are! So, let me start by telling you 3 words to describe myself at 9:38 pm on April 7, 2009..(deep breath, here goes.)

Determined, laid-back, shy.

These are the words that describe me well..right now. Those words change from time to time for sure and I'm sure so will yours. That's where I feel that your relationship with me as your photographer really matters. I want to always be striving to achieve my goal to capture who you are ~ not just a smile, a belly laugh..not just a look, but a gaze. And yes, I'm a hopeless romantic. :)

I am happy. I am doing what I love and love what I do. And I am excited! I am new on the photography scene, but my aspirations are high! I am a free spirit! :D
