Every year, just about at this time of year, when the days are getting a little shorter and there are just a precious few hours between school dismissal and bedtime, the board games that sit collecting dust on the shelves all summer long, are dug out. Mouse Trap, Uno, Monopoly, Game of Life, chess and checkers. My punks are little checker/chess maniacs. When Quentin found out his new school has an official Chess Club, he was beside himself! He has been playing the game since he was a wee totty and as nerdy as it may be, he can take me anyday. And his pop. And the few chess-playing buddies he has.
I get taken back a bit everytime I see one of my older boys teaching his younger brother 'something'. Anything really. And tonight, as I was clearing the table and such, Harley and Blythe started a checkers game, and Harley was giving lessons. I could not resist..

checker lessons anyone?

all these rules are making my brain hurt..

little hands..:)

Quentin is now teaching Harley the finer points of chess. "Harley, say 'bishop'".
free spirit love :D
