50 Golden, Happy Years::Free Spirits::Joe & Joyce

I am very blessed to be involved with so many couples, documenting momentous events in their lives such as weddings, of course, and anniversaries. Anniversaries are truly a cause for celebration, and it's wonderful to watch each year as a uniting of two people becomes a family of three, four or more!! So it was an EXTRAORDINARY privilege and honour to be asked to photograph one of my bestie's parents for their 50th anniversary celebrations!

When you see a couple in their 50th year of marriage together, and witness the deep love and affection they still have for one another, it truly moves you. Joyce and Joe are so in step with each other..and had wonderful stories to tell about their wedding day, how they met, where they raised their 4 children. Having been married in Hamilton, ON, it was only fitting to take their photos up on the escarpment overlooking the city, along with a few in their family home.

My friend and their daughter Michelle, wanted some 'hands' photographs. I think these hands are lovely!



And my personal favourites..including many old photo photographs...because, as you probably already know, I LOVE old family photographs!!
