Last Day of School

I tell my boys it's about new beginnings and not endings. This was on my mind as we drove up to school this morning ~ the first and only school my boys have ever known so far.

I remember 5 years ago, when Quentin first walked up the kindergarten ramp of A.M.Cunningham, in his new Buzz Lightyear shirt and me with my belly popping, pregnant with Blythe. My oldest was starting school, and I was an emotional wreck! Today, my youngest completes Junior Kindergarten, Harley is off to grade 2 and Quentin, grade 4! Where does the time go..?

We have always taken pride in and loved our school. I have driven the boys back and forth to it each year, and I have made many wonderful friends there. Such a close-knit and strong community spirit permeates it. We will miss the familiar faces there!

Today, I packed a lunch, took my camera and documented a bit of our last lunch hour at AMC. Life is all about change, and the experience, memories and opportunities we gain and achieve in life serves to make up who we are. My boys and I will alway remember the wonderful friends we have made here, and they will always remember their first school experiences at AMC. It is part of who they are and will be.

As a fresh new page opens before us, we anticipate meeting new friends at our new town and school. We will bring with us the community spirit we are so proud of from A.M.Cunnigham.
