Before I left for Vegas, my boys asked if I could bring home a few things. One, some desert sand...two, a desert rock...and three, pics of flying in an airplane. My little men have never been up in a plane and I promised them all three. And so I delivered.
Here are some pics I took at the airport in Atlanta, Georgia. It was a grey and drizzly day, but I think it provided a neat effect.

Had to take some shots of the inside too..

Watching planes land and take off..

Like ducks in a row... :)

Our runway...

Lifting off, through clouds..

From a rainy day to a sunny one..just like that.

And as I looked out over the great yonder, at all the tiny houses and roads and open fields, it dawned on me how very small we are and how the world is truly 'flat'. Up 10,000 feet in the air, the tallest building is not much taller than a house, and if they are small, then we are tremendously miniscule. Reminded me of how relative everything is in life, and how much point of view really matters. From different angles we see life in different ways and dimensions. Different people, different viewpoints, different circumstances all on one great big planet you know? (These deeper thoughts also served as a distraction from the turbulence we were experiencing conincidentally at the same time..).

So there you have it. Within a little while, I was back on Canadian soil and in the arms of those I love most in this world. I was home.
Capturing your spirit..
