Graffiti Boys

As part of my Child Portraiture assignment for my workshop at Trina Koster Photography Studio, I chose to photograph my kids ~ Quentin, Harley & Blythe. I mimicked Krista Hall Jeffeson's style of Edison Photography, www.edisonphotography.com. Krista does a lot of what she calls 'urban grunge' - cool looking brick walls, graffiti, back alleys etc. Some of the coolest shots I've ever seen! I spotted an amazing graffiti fence up on Hamilton mountain and decided it was the location to shoot! Of course, the day we went just happened to be 20 below...and my fingers froze and my camera shutter started making a strange creak now and again..But the boys were real troopers and posed as best they could for Mamma's endeavours! The results turned out not too badly, again, if the weather had been better, I would have taken more time to 'casually pose' them in a certain way...I know this doesn't work for all kids, but mine are used to 'modelling' for Mom! :)

I will definitely hit this spot again come spring or summer - the graffiti artwork is amazing!
